Jamaican gymnast Danusia Francis is among hundreds of athletes whose training programmes have been impacted by a rule implemented by the British Government.
With some global sports returning after the shutdown brought about by COVID-19, the British Government reopened training facilities to its athletes but those who represent other countries are not allowed to train at those venues.
Speaking with the Gleaner recently, Francis revealed that she is taking steps to address it by writing to her Member of Parliament for his intervention.
Francis, who lost a family member to COVID-19, noted that the rule also impacts other athletes who represent Jamaica. She has already qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.
