JFF blasts online racial abuse of Trudi Carter

Reggae Girl forward Trudi Carter has been the subject of online racial abuse while representing the country at the ongoing CONCACAF Women's Championship in Mexico.

Carter scored Jamaica's opening goal in the 4-0 win over Haiti and also provided the assist for Drew Spence's 4th goal.

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) revealed on its instagram page that Carter was racially abused on instagram following the Reggae Girlz victorious match against the Haitians which saw them qualify for next year's FIFA Women’s World Cup.

In its post, titled “JFF abhors racial abuse of Trudi Carter”, the local governing body sought to reiterate in no uncertain manner that there is no place for racism, discrimination, or abuse within or outside the game of football

The federation added that it was incensed that Carter was the subject of racial abuse on instagram after she played so well to ensure that Jamaica qualified for successive FIFA Women's World Cups.

The JFF says it stands in full support of its players and will do all possible to ensure their protection and well-being.

The regional governing body CONCACAF is aware of the abuse.
