National lacrosse player Ishcah Browne has become the second Jamaican international to receive a lacrosse scholarship in the space of a month, as she has accepted an offer from Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia. The 18 year old will be playing Division 2 lacrosse.
Head coach of Jamaica's women's lacrosse team, Karli Brentlinger is optimistic that Browne can compete at the Division 2 level. National Under-19 player Jessica Sylvester, gained an academic scholarship to join Ivey League institution Cornell University in early May. Jamaica qualified for the 2021 Lacrosse World Cup after finishing third in the Pan-American Championship last year.
