Naturalization of Nigerian player stymied by JTTA

The vexed issue of what qualifies naturalised citizens to represent Jamaica in the sport of table tennis has been put in the spotlight in recent times, with the national trials to select the team to next year’s Caribbean Championship in Barbados scheduled for next month.

At least one Nigerian-born athlete, who is married to a Jamaican and has been living on the island for more than three years, is being barred from realizing his dream of representing the nation.
