Ricketts records lone Jamaican victory in Zagreb

Olympic finalist Shanieka Ricketts recorded the only Jamaican victory at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold Level meet in Zagreb, Croatia on Tuesday. Ricketts leapt to a meet record 14.77 metres to win the women's triple jump.

Shadae Lawrence with 60.80 metres, placed third in the women's discus which was won by Olympic champion Valrie Allman of the United States with 69.63 metres.

Fedric Dacres had to settle for 5th in the men's discus after throwing 64.69 metres. The event was won by world and Olympic champion Daniel Stahl of Sweden 67.79 metres.

On the track, Olympic champion Hansle Parchment was beaten into third place in the men's 110 metre hurdles, clocking 13.12 seconds, as compatriot Ronald Levy took second in 13.11. American Devon Allen won the event in a personal best 12.99.

Olympic 100 metre bronze medalist Shericka Jackson  was once again defeated over 200 metres by Namibian Olympic silver medalist and World Under-20 champion Christine Mboma.

Jackson placed second in 22.30 as the Nambian sped to a meet record 22.04 seconds to win. Another Jamaican, Shasha Lee Forbes was 4th in 23.37.

Julian Forte with 10.20 ended 5th in the men's 100 metres which was won by American Marvin Bracy in 9.86.
