Having made his return to international cricket during the charity Twenty20 match against the World X1, Jamaican Andre Russell has been named in his first One Day International squad since returning from his doping ban. Russell was named to the Windies 13-member squad for the three upcoming ODI's against Bangladesh.
Russell is also likely to play his first match in Jamaica since the ban when he lines up for the UWI Vice-Chancellor’s X1 to play a tour game at Sabina Park on Thursday. The three match series forms the start of a 16-game ODI trek to the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Russell is one of three Jamaicans in the Windies squad with the others being Rovman Powell and Chris Gayle.
The Jason Holder-led team also includes Devendra Bishoo, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Jason Mohammed, Ashley Nurse, Keemo Paul and Kieran Powell. The first ODI is set for Guyana on Sunday, July 22.
