Steven Todd reaches 200th career win, while Father Patrick lands feature

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Spencer Darlington

The 3-2 favourite Father Patrick under champion apprentice Oshane Nugent for trainer Ian Parsard, landed the feature St Catherine Cup for Open Allowance runners over 6 furlongs on Saturday's 10 race card at Caymanas Park.

Father Patrick was kept quite prominent behind the splits of 22.2 and 45.3 set by the speedball Patriarch before delivering a serious challenge in deep stretch.

Father Patrick came home in 1 minute, 12 seconds flat to record to back victories in just under a month and closed out a double for Nugent on the programme.

Meanwhile, third generation trainer Steven Todd achieved a noteable milestone on the programme when he saddled a three-timer including his 2-hundreth career win, courtesy of the 5-2 chance Boasy and Flashy in race number 5.

Provisional joint champion jockey Anthony Thomas along with Linton Steadman and Javaniel Patterson had two wins each among the riders. Racing continues next Saturday.
