The first ever meeting between Wayne DaCosta's super pair of She's A Maneater and Stranger Danger has the local racing fraternity in a frenzy ahead of Saturday's fifth running of the ultra-rich Diamond Mile at Caymanas Park. The outstanding 5 year old bay mare, former Triple Crown winner and former Horse of the Year She's A Maneater", will actually be seeking her second victory in the richest event in the English-speaking Caribbean, having produced a supreme performance in the 2017 staging.

She will also be looking to rebound from last year's disappointment where she was the howling favourite but bolted before the start and was subsequently declared a late non-starter. Regular jockey Omar Walker will have the leg up on She's A Maneater who has been working brilliantly at exercise and will actually be seeking her seventh victory from eight starts this year.

Her blistering workouts was highlighted by a 5-and-a-half furlong gallop on October 21 when she blitzed 1:05.3, the fastest time for that distance among the entire field for Saturday's contest. Unbeaten American and stable companion, Stranger Danger who will be partnered by veteran jockey Phillip Parchment for the first time, is the 4-5 ante-post favourite.

The 3 year old dark bay gelding who has also been working well on the exercise track, will be seeking his tenth victory from as many starts on local soil. Dacosta's other four runners are Summer Sun, Princess Annie, Uncle Frank and Drummer Boy.

Leading trainer Anthony "Baba" Nunes also has six runners, headlined by Triple Crown winner Supreme Soul to be partnered by regular jockey Shane Ellis and Toona Ciliata, the mount of three time former champion jockey Dane Nelson.

Supreme Soul will be fitted with the visor for the first time and a much improved performance is expected from the 3 year chestnut colt who could only manage a disappointing sixth in his last two races including the Superstakes on October 6. Nunes will also be represented by Fayrouz, Houdini's Magic, Bruce Wayne and Donte.

The field is completed by the Gary Subratie pair of Uncle Vinnie and Sentient, Another Bulklet from the barn of Patrick "Wacky" Lynch and the Ian Parsard-trained Superluminal. The Diamond Mile which carries a total purse of US $115,000 or approximately Ja $14 million, is set for 4:25 pm.

Live racing coverage and an outside broadcast on Diamond Mile Day will be on Hitz 92 FM ffom 1:00 - 5:00 pm.
First post for the 13-race programme is 10:15 am.
