23,000 new businesses registered in 2024

The Companies Office of Jamaica says the number of new businesses registered last year was 23,000.

Chief Executive Officer and the Registrar of Companies, Shellie Leon, says this was a 9% increase when compared with the previous year.

She says this was partly due to the ease of doing business with the agency.
