Berger Paints doubles profit on strong revenues for nine months

Berger Paints is reporting a net profit of $18 million on revenues of $2.4 billion during the nine-month period which ended on September 30.

This was a big improvement when compared with the $9 million recorded on revenues of $2.2 billion reported during the same period last year.

This was mainly due to an increase in its revenues and a steep fall in its manufacturing expenses to $44.1 million this year from $129.9 million last year.

The company says this turnaround was due to greater operational efficiency, stronger market delivery, disciplined cost management and the stabilisation of its supply chain.

It noted that Hurricane Melissa had a negative impact on its customers and the country as a whole, and as a result, this will have a negative impact on its performance for the rest of this year.
