Express Catering is reporting a sharp decline in revenue and profit, as passenger traffic at Sangster International Airport continues to feel the impact of Hurricane Melissa.
For the third quarter ending February 2026, passenger numbers in the airport's departure lounge fell by nearly 40 per cent to just under 394 thousand travellers.
As a result, net profit for the quarter also declined significantly to just over US$647, 000, compared with US$1.7 million a year earlier.
Revenue dropped to US$3.8 million, down from $7.4 million in the same period last year.
For the nine-month period, net profit for the period totalled US$1.6 million, down from $3.2 million last year.
Passenger traffic fell by 21 per cent to 1.4 million, while revenue declined to US$13.6 million.
The company says the downturn reflects reduced visitor arrivals, as several hotels in Montego Bay and surrounding areas remain out of operation following hurricane damage.
