Zak Mars, head of global sourcing and supply chain at GraceKennedy Group Limited, says the company is still working with its supplier to find out what caused the problem with its fruit punch flavoured Tropical Rhythms, which it recalled last week.
Speaking in an interview on Radio Jamaica's Real Business on Thursday, Mars stressed that there were no traces of any microbiological problem with the product, and as result, it was not recalled because of any food safety or health issues.
He also pointed to the health alert issued by the US Department of Agriculture in relation to Grace Vienna Sausages it claimed were made in Jamaica, stressing that they were neither made in Jamaica nor exported to that country by GraceKennedy.
This, he pointed out, is because GraceKennedy Group Limited has no permit to export meat and poultry products to the USA and it complies with this regulation.
