Guardian Group launches Guardian General Insurance branc

Guardian Group launched its Guardian General Insurance brand and is eyeing further acquisitions to grow the company.

The insurance company, which is created from the merger of West Indies Alliance and Globe insurance, is the biggest commercial insurer in Jamaica.

Jeffrey Mack, CEO of  Guardian Holdings Group said the company will be going after more acquisitions.

“Regulators are demanding a greater capital base, they are demanding more compliance and this is putting a lot of pressure on insurance companies, so a lot of companies that are insignificant  insize are looking to sell ....we intend to continue doing these full time acquisitions,” Mack said.

He was speaking at the ceremony to officially launch Guardian General Insurance to the Jamaican Market.

With the merger, Guardian now has about 20 percent of the commercial General Insurance Market in Jamaica.
