Members of Jamaica's tourism, fisheries, conservation and business sectors have benefitted from a technical workshop hosted by Iberostar Hotels & Resorts.
The workshop was aimed at creating a more integrated approach to local seafood sourcing.
The workshop, which was held at the company's Rose Hall Complex, explored how the country can strengthen the connection between its fisheries and tourist industries.
The workshop also addressed the longstanding challenges that affect the ability of the local fishing industry to consistently access the hospitality industry.
The participants in the workshop included the National Fisheries Authority, National Conservation Trust Fund of Jamaica, National Environmental Foundation of Jamaica, and the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association, as well as a number of seafood suppliers.
