Jamaica National lowers rate for new mortgages

For the second time this week news has come that another building society has lowered mortgage rates.  Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) said it has introduced a special rate of 9.29
per cent for new mortgagors. This is down from 9.4 per cent. Jamaica National said the adjustment, which took effect on October 1, comes with 90 per cent financing for the purchase and
construction of residences.   On Monday Victoria Mutual Building Society also announced a dip in its mortgage rates.
