The Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX) hospitality and tourism industry trade show resumes this year.

The event is organised by the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association (JHTA) and the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB).

JHTA President Robin Russell says JAPEX is an important event for local stakeholders in the tourism business.

"This is the platform at which that travel trade happens; our tour operators, travel agents, old and new partners, hotels, attractions do business for the upcoming year and years ahead. Jamaica has been a hot destination and despite worldwide occurrences, we are first to market and on the minds of the travelling public," he asserted.

Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett said the event, to be held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre from September 11 to 13, will have 200 delegates from 20 countries represented.

This will include buyers and sellers, travel agents and tour operators from new markets like eastern Europe, as well as South America and Latin America.

The last JAPEX event was held in 2019.
