The JSE Index advanced by 717 points on Friday, while the Junior Market advanced by 17 points.
Overall market activity resulted from trading in 105 stocks of which 49 advanced, 40 declined and 16 traded firm.
Wigton Energy was the volume leader with 55 per cent of total volume.
