Logistic hub piques interest among investors

It has been announced that a major consortium of  American, European and Middle Eastern investors has expressed strong interest in the Logistics Hub initiative.  

Industry Minister Anthony Hylton says representatives of  the group are in Jamaica meeting with government officials. A formal proposal will be submitted to the Government. 

Mr. Hylton said the consortium is mobilising 4 billion US dollars to design, build as well as operate integrated components of  the logistics hub.  The Minister said if  this materialises it will accelerate the logistics hub initiative. 
                                                 
And a recommendation is to go to Cabinet shortly for the removal of  the ban on the importation of  damaged vehicles.  Mr. Hylton in his Sectoral presentation yesterday said a multi-agency task force has been formed to review and make recommendations:
