Omni Industries is targeting a more than twofold increase in the share of its revenues coming from export markets over the next five years.
The company currently earns about 3.5 per cent of its revenues from markets in Guyana, St. Lucia, Dominica and Trinidad and Tobago.
Managing Director Patrick Kumst says the target is to increase that figure to 10 per cent within five years.
Omni is already in discussions with the largest bakery in Trinidad and Tobago to supply it with bakery trays.
Mr. Kumst says fulfilling larger export orders will require the company to expand its operations.
Omni Industries invested $218 million in its capital stock last year, including $166.2 million in new machinery.
The company says the investment is intended to support its expansion and increase its capacity to serve both local and regional markets.
