Low cost carrier RedJet, suspended flights indefinitely on Friday.
The Barbados-based airline reportedly said it did not receive Government assistance like other carriers, some of which drastically cut their fares in an effort to force it out of business.
Its understood that the Trinidadian Government told RedJet not to look in its direction for financial support.
Transport Minister Devant Maharaj is reported as saying the Government cannot expose itself as a guarantor to a private enterprise .
Prior to REDjet’s arrival, the T&T Civil Aviation Authority expressed reservations about the quality of the entity's two aircraft, which have been troubled by breakdown issues.
