Sandals Resorts International has reportedly called off plans to close one of its properties.
The hotel chain will reopen Grand Pineapple Beach Negril on December 15, reversing a decision made last August to close the family-oriented resort.
Sandals Chairman Gordon "Butch" Stewart says the decision is in response to customers who have expressed disappointment with the closure.
At the time of the announcement of Grand Pineapple's closure Mr. Stewart said the property no longer fitted into Sandal's model of resorts and this would allow it to concentrate on the other luxury included properties and Beaches resorts.
At the time of the closing, the Negril staff was offered employment at other Sandals and Beaches resorts as well as at Grand Pineapple Beach Antigua.
