Scammers are reportedly fleecing tens of thousands of dollars from potential tenants.
Rohan Scott, a realtor, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Anthony McLaughin agree that there has been an increase in these scams in recent times.
Describing how the scam works, Mr Scott said scammers will hijack property listings and in turn post them on social media platforms and collect down payments from prospective tenants.
