Jamaicans spent more money on gaming over the last three months.
This was reflected in increased profit for major player in the gaming industry Supreme Ventures at the end of its July to September quarter.
Earnings after tax for the three months amounted to $426 million, a 36 per cent improvement over the same period in 2021.
For the same quarter last year, Supreme Ventures made $312.3 million.
The company's total earnings grew to $12 billion - that's $1.9 billion or 18.7 per cent more than the sum earned last year.
Supreme ventures says its performance was largely influenced by increased lottery sales.
Gross ticket sales for the quarter amounted to $26.6 billion, an increase of 26 per cent over the same period in 2021.
