An 11-year-old boy has been hospitalised in serious condition after gunmen shot up his house in Naggo Head, St. Catherine.
The incident, which took place on Wednesday has been linked to the conflict between rival gangs from Naggo Head and Southborough.
It was reported that the boy and his father were asleep about 11:00 p.m. when men opened gunfire on their house.
The child was shot in the head and chest. His father was also seriously injured.
The attack occurred hours after seven persons were shot, two fatally, in Southborough.
A man was also shot in Naggo Head on Wednesday night.
The security forces have been deployed to Naggo Head and Southborough to stave off reprisal attacks.
