The Police High Command is keeping a close watch on Cockburn Pen in St. Andrew following the shooting death of alleged gangster Valburn Harley, otherwise called Valdy.
Mr. Harley was among four persons shot by gunmen along Mountain View Avenue on Monday afternoon.
Mr. Harley was on his way from the Home Circuit Court shortly before 1 o'clock. He stopped at a fruit vendor along Mountain View Avenue when a car with men aboard drove up.
The men opened fire hitting him, his brother and another passenger in the vehicle.
A vendor was also shot and injured.
Mr. Harley and the injured persons were taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The police are trying to establish a motive for the attack.
