An American woman was on Monday arrested following a seizure of cocaine at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James.
The 30-year-old sales representative was held after narcotics police found 2.3 kilogrammes of cocaine, valued at US$70,000, in her possession.
The police say about 12:45 p.m. Monday, the woman attempted to board a departing flight to New York when she was intercepted and searched at the security check point.
Four packages containing cocaine were found strapped to her body.
She was arrested on reasonable suspicion for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
