Barbados records 38th murder for 2025

 
Barbados has recorded its 38th homicide for the year following a shooting on Monday along St. Barnabas Road, St. Michael. 
 
Acting Inspector Ryan Brathwaite, police public relations officer, says officers at District A station responded to reports of gunshots in the area around 10:45 a.m.
 
He says it follows an altercation among a group of men. 
 
"A male sustained a number of injuries as a result of those gunshots. And he was transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed this incident or may have any information that may assist us, to please contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-8477, police emergency at 211 or the District A Police Station. This will be homicide number 38 for 2025," he lamented.
