British national pleads guilty to cocaine charges, fined $750,000

A British national who was held with one and a half pounds of cocaine hidden inside two pairs of slippers at Sangster International Airport in St. James, in September, was ordered to pay a total fine of $750,000 when he appeared in court today.
 
Glenn Mason, a 53-year-old resident of London, England, pleaded guilty in the St. James Parish Court to the charges of possession of, dealing in, and attempting to export cocaine.
 
Investigators had reported that on September 30, Mason was preparing to board an outgoing flight when he was stopped by security personnel.
 
During a search of his luggage, the cops discovered cocaine concealed in a pair of slippers.
