Former Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, Dame Janice Pereira, who hails from the British Virgin Islands, has been appointed to His Majesty's Privy Council.
The announcement was made yesterday.
The appointment, approved by King Charles III, acknowledges her service and marks another historic milestone in her career.
She made history as the first female Chief Justice of the ECSC, a role she has held since 2012.
Throughout her tenure, she has been instrumental in modernising the court system, particularly through implementing digital justice platforms.
