Head of
the St. Catherine Chamber of Commerce Dennis Robotham has expressed concern about
reports that taxi operators in sections of Spanish Town
are being physically abused by armed thugs.
Mr. Robotham said since the police started to restrict the location where taxi operators can operate, men calling themselves 'Enforcers' have been harassing taxi men.
He said the thugs threaten the taxi operators under the guise of upholding order.
However this is a front to extort the taxi operators.
Mr. Robotham said he held a meeting with Mayor Andrew Wheatley to discuss the matter.
