A record 25,643 people are eligible to cast their ballots in today's general election in the Cayman Islands, with voters also being called upon to vote in a referendum that will not be binding on the incoming administration.
More than 2,500 people have already voted in postal or mobile ballots.
Three parties are vying for seats in Parliament.
Two parties created ahead of the elections, the Cayman Islands National Party and the Caymanian Community Party, are facing competition from the People's Progressive Movement and several independent candidates.
The leader of the party that wins the majority of the 19 seats is expected to become the new Prime Minister.
Two other seats in Parliament are appointed.
In the non-binding referendum, voters are being asked whether the government should create a national lottery, develop cruise birthing infrastructure and decriminalise the possession and consumption of small amounts of marijuana.
