Caymanas Track Ltd to decide on status of engineers today

A decision will be made on Monday by Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) on the status of a group of engineers employed to the company.

Shane Dalling, CTL Managing Director, says the company will communicate its decision during a meeting with the Union of Technical, Administrative and Supervisory Personnel (UTASP), which represents the engineers.

Members of CTL's Engineering Department have been in a dispute with the entity over the status of their jobs. They have accused the company of trying to replace them with new engineers.

The workers have been locked out of CTL's Engineering Department, following the reported disappearance of files from the computer system.

The disappearance of the files led to the cancellation of horse racing on August 13. Mr. Dalling says the matter is still being investigated by the police.

UTASP will be demanding the lifting of the ban during Monday's meeting.
