Footage from CCTV cameras has assisted investigators to identify the vehicle which hit a policeman Thursday morning during a traffic stop in New Kingston.
The constable is being treated in hospital.
The cop, who is assigned to the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), suffered injuries to his legs.
It is reported that the driver of a black Toyota Wish was signalled to stop at the intersection of Worthington Avenue and Trafalgar Road.
He disobeyed, and hit the policeman before speeding away.
The police are seeking the public's help to locate the vehicle with licence plate number PJ 6379.
Persons with information on the vehicle are asked to contact 119 or the nearest police station.
