The Office of the Children's Advocate has joined the probe into the circulation of a video featuring school girls engaging in sexual activities. Personnel from that state agency will be visiting the schools and communities in Clarendon, associated with the individuals involved in the video.
These Emergency Focal Point Responders "will be on spot in the parish today (Monday) and they will be seeking all the necessary information so that I can be advised and informed as to the best way forward in this matter" Mrs. Gordon Harrison told RJR News.
News of the offensive video emerged on the weekend, when it was confirmed that the police had launched an investagation. The Ministry of Education also confirmed that it would be intervening in the matter as an urgent priority.
Diahann Gordon Harrison, the Children's Advocate, told RJR News that she was disturbed by what she had seen and vowed that strong action will be taken against the person behind the creation of the video, particularly because that person - an adult male - had reportedly "sought to gain profit and to really exploit these children."
She added that her office had sourced the footage "so that we can go through, identify the various school children that are involved, in terms of the institutions to which they belong."
