More lights will have to be installed at the top of the George Headley and North Stand at Sabina Park ahead of the day/night test between the West Indies and Australia.
According to Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) president, Dr Donovan Bennett, an additional 20 lights are needed to ensure the outfield is properly lit for the game.
In the meantime, the full effects of the lights will not be seen until early July.
When Radio Jamaica Sports visited on Tuesday, there were some visible dark areas on the outfield due to the lights not being focused.
Dr Bennett says the JCA is awaiting the arrival of a special equipment in order to complete the process. Sabina Park is set to host the third test between the West Indies and Australia which is a pink ball affair starting July 12.
