By Nakinskie Robinson

Sunday night turned deadly for a couple in Green Meadows, Clarendon after armed men attacked them minutes apart, killing one and robbing the other.

Police say sometime after 9 o'clock, the 47-year-old woman had just driven into her yard in Green Meadows from Old Harbour, and noticed that the house next door was on fire.

She made checks at the property and was attacked by two men dressed in dark clothing and masks.

She was robbed of her cell phone at gun point and ordered into her house.

The authorities say about two minutes later, her husband 62-year-old Derrick Morgan, otherwise called Jim, a truck driver, who was coming from a domino game close by also stopped to make checks at the burning house.

He was then attacked by the men who shot him.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It's understood that the owners of the house that was set ablaze were attending church at the time of the incident.
