Officers attached to the Area Two police were called to Short Lane in Mount Edgecombe, St. Ann following a gun attack on Tuesday morning.
Renarko Campbell, also called 'Okey', a 26-year-old construction worker of Royal Palm Estate Great House in Runaway Bay, was shot and killed shortly after midnight.
Reports are that Mr. Campbell was walking along Short Lane when a white motor vehicle approached. Men alighted the car and shot him.
He died at the scene.
The police say evidence retrieved from the scene included 19 spent casings, one expanded bullet and six damaged bullets.
