A 48 hour curfew has been imposed in sections of Dela Vega City following on the heels of the quadruple killings on Windsor Road in St. Catherine.
The curfew, which was enforced at 6 o'clock Sunday evening, will remain in force until Tuesday.
The boundaries are north along an imaginary line at the Dela Vega City playing field from Port Henderson Road to Salt Pond Road, south along the Spanish Town Bypass from Port Henderson Road to Salt Pond Road, east along Port Henderson Road from the Dela Vega City playing field to the Spanish Town Bypass and west along Salt Pond Road from the Spanish Town Bypass to the Dela Vega City playing field.
Sections of Windsor Road remain tense after four men were shot dead and four others hospitalised in serious condition after marauding gunmen went on a shooting spree shortly after nine o'clock Saturday night.
A group of men were at a gambling house in the community when four cars with men aboard drove up.
The passengers, who were carrying M16 and AK47 rifles, shot at the group.
Four of the men died on the spot, while the others were rushed to hospital.
The police say the shooting was in reprisal for the murder of Errol Ellison, 40, otherwise called "Big Head", who is said to be a relative of Tesha Miller, reputed head of the Spanish Town-based Klansman Gang.
Mr. Ellison was reportedly at a business place shortly after two o'clock Saturday afternoon when he was approached by two men who shot him dead.
