The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) is urging employers to give election day workers the necessary time off on election day to carry out their civic duty.
Director of Elections Glasspole Brown also issued an appeal to employers to grant employees permission to serve as election day workers.
He says preparations have also been made to accommodate special services voting on Thursday.
Some 40,514 special services electors will cast their ballots Thursday, ahead of Monday's Local Government Election.
This group of special services voters comprises more than 10,000 police officers, around 4,800 members of the Jamaica Defence Force and over 25,000 Election Day Workers.
Their names have been extracted from the official Voters' List and sent to 365 polling stations across the island.
Polling stations will be opened from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The EOJ says election day workers who have not been notified of their voting day and voting location by phone call or text message are being advised to contact its offices.
