A pedestrian was mowed down on the Seville main road in St. Ann on Wednesday morning and later died at St. Ann's Bay Regional Hospital.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Tajae Gayle, a farmer of Linstead, St. Catherine.
Reports are that sometime after 11 a.m., Mr. Gayle parked his Toyota Caldina station wagon westerly on the soft shoulder of the Seville main road in the vicinity of Seville Great House.
While removing items from the trunk, Mr. Gayle was hit by a Toyota Axio motor car that had exited the westbound lane.
He became trapped beneath his vehicle.
The impact of the collision propelled Mr. Gayle's car into the rear of a Honda CRV that was also parked on the soft shoulder.
All three vehicles sustained major damage.
Firefighters from the St. Ann's Bay station, who were quick on the scene, removed the seriously injured man from beneath his car and rushed him to hospital.
Mr. Gayle died while being treated.
The driver of the Toyota Axio was warned for prosecution.
