Eight people were rushed to the St Anns Bay Regional Hospital on Friday morning following a motor vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle plying the Falmouth to Ocho Rios route and a truck owned by Restaurants of Jamaica, operators of KFC.
The collision occurred along the Priory main road in the vicinity of the Plantation Smoke House restaurant.
Reports are that about 10:15 a.m. the KFC truck was heading westerly towards Montego Bay laden with stock while the passenger bus was travelling easterly.
The bus reportedly overtook a line of traffic and collided with the truck, forcing it off the road.
The passengers of the bus were assisted to hospital, with four listed in critical condition and four treated and released.
It's understood that neither the truck driver nor his assistant were injured.
The driver of the bus has been taken into custody by the St. Ann Police and is expected to be charged.
