Five more escapees from the Constant Spring Police lock-up have been recaptured by the police.
Three of the escapees - 31-year-old Junior Barnes, 25-year-old Kamal Kelly and 27-year-old Brandon Ennis - were recaptured in Duncans, Trelawny on Wednesday afternoon. Barnes was originally charged with possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised ammunition; Kelly was charged with shooting with intent; and Ennis was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.
Two others were nabbed in Spanish Town and Olympic Gardens on Wednesday morning. They are 19-year-old Richard Bishop of Olympic Way, St. Andrew - originally arrested on charges of burglary and larceny - and 23-year-old Talik Chambers of Burlington Avenue, Kingston 10, who was charged with identity theft.
Three of the escapees still remain at large.
During the jailbreak, approximately 1 a.m. on Tuesday, nine men successfully broke free from their cell but only eight were able to flee the police compound.
The police said immediate measures were put in place to recapture the escapees with resources deployed island-wide to support the effort.
