Fly Jamaica Airways has been de-certified in Guyana following the recent suspension of its operating certificate in Jamaica.
This was confirmed by Director General of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Egbert Field.
According to Guyana’s Stabroek News, Fly Jamaica was de-certified in Guyana as it does not have documents to submit to the GCAA for approval.
As a result, the airline has been de-certified from carrying out operations in Guyana.
RJR News recently reported that the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had suspended Fly Jamaica's operating certificate.
Nari Williams Singh, Director-General of the JCAA, said action was taken as Fly Jamaica had not been operating for some time and the airline closed operations in March.
