A former Waterhouse footballer, Stephorn Brown, who was on trial for rape and abduction was found not guilty before the Home Circuit Court on Friday.
The seven-member jury panel deliberated for more than an hour in returning the verdict.
It was alleged that in October 2018, after attending a party in Waterhouse, Mr. Brown threw the complainant over his shoulder and carried her to his house.
It was further alleged that he held her down and raped her.
During cross examination, Mr. Brown's attorney Richard Lynch pointed out that the complainant was unable to recall critical details before, during and after the sexual encounter.
She also recounted several parts of the incident that were never reported to the police.
Mr. Brown, in his defence, had maintained that they had consensual sex.
The 28-year-old also maintained that the complainant accused him of rape because of a disagreement.
