As of 1 April, marijuana use has been partly decriminalised in Germany.
Adults are also now permitted to grow up to three plants per household.
Persons over age 18 can now possess up to 25 grams of cannabis in public.
But people won't be allowed to smoke joints within sight of schools, sports centres or in pedestrian zones between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
While some have celebrated the move, police unions are warning of real-world harm.
They believe criminal networks will adapt and use the law to favour their network.
