The Independent Commission of Investigations [INDECOM] has confirmed that it is probing a report that a police officer carried out this morning's drive by shooting in Manchester, in which another policeman was grazed and his vehicle damaged.
Radio Jamaica News earlier reported that a police corporal escaped serious wounds after being shot at along the Spur Tree main road. Further inquires have confirmed that the attack was allegedly carried out by another officer about 12:15.
It's reported that the Corporal was driving his Toyota Axio motor car along the road when another vehicle drove up beside him. The driver then reportedly fired several shots into the policeman's car, damaging it and grazing his forehead.
The corporal drove himself to the hospital where he was treated.
INDECOM and the Manchester Police are investigating.
