President of the People's National Party Mark Golding is calling for details on any possible increase in the income tax threshold.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness promised, during a meeting of his governing Jamaica Labour Party in Trelawny on the weekend, that there would be a further increase in the income tax threshold from $1.5 million.
There has since been no indication as to when or by how much the threshold would be increased.
Mr Golding declared on Tuesday that any increase in the threshold should not result in new taxes.
He has called for the threshold to be increased to 3 million dollars
