At least 14 parliamentarians in Guyana fell ill, possibly from a virus, prompting a massive clean-up operation at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre yesterday.
As a result, the budget proceedings were continued virtually.
Sources say eight opposition and six government lawmakers became sick.
News of sickened lawmakers and Parliament office staff came as the National Assembly was preparing to start a week of considering estimates of expenditure.
