Guyana's Health Minister, Dr Frank Anthony, said at least four people have died from dengue this year.
He added that there have also been an estimated 400 people hospitalised with the virus.
Dr Anthony said warmer temperatures are contributing to a growth in the Aedes Aegypti mosquito population, and as such, dengue is one of the health concerns the ministry is keeping a close watch on.
Last April, he disclosed that two people had died from dengue and that the Health Ministry had noted a surge in dengue cases.
