An executive member of the political party, the Working People's Alliance, Kidackie Amsterdam, was yesterday charged under the Cyber Crime Act with using a computer system to encourage or incite persons to commit a criminal offence against the President of Guyana.
Mr Amsterdam pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He was granted bail and ordered to return to court on June 10.
In a video released by the police, the political activist and talk show host was seen engaging a male caller on his show who said President Irfaan Ali, Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, Attorney General Anil Nandlall, and Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh should be beheaded.
